Join us for the monthly meeting of the Chagrin Gateway Democrats, Speakers will include Michael Halberstam from the Chandra Law Firm. Thursday, May 7 at 6:30pm at the Orange Branch Library, 31975 Chagrin Blvd, Pepper Pike, OH 44124. RSVP for the meeting to help us plan use of the space.

About our speakers:

Michael Halberstam’s experience includes civil rights; employment and whistleblower litigation; political law; voting rights; corporate, civil, and securities litigation; and corporate compliance.

He has litigated in federal district court and in bankruptcy court, conducted corporate internal investigations, managed large-scale electronic discovery, participated in large-scale billion-dollar multi-district litigation, and served as a legal expert on provisions of U.S. federal civil procedure in a number of foreign securities class actions. Michael is the author of a book and numerous articles, including articles in the Election Law Journal, the Emory Law Journal, the Northwestern Law Review, the Connecticut Law Review, the Seattle Law Review, and Law and Social Inquiry. He has edited two volumes of the Election Law Journal, one on redistricting, the other on the intersection of campaign finance and lobbying regulations


Kimberly Kilby is a civil rights attorney and public servant dedicated to expanding opportunity and protecting the rights of every student. She currently serves as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, where she works on matters involving equal access to education and the fair treatment of students in schools and colleges. Her work focuses on helping educational institutions meet their legal obligations while keeping students’ needs at the center of decision-making.
