Weeks before the inauguration\, we’ll be outlining action steps to save democracy. (Original date of Jan. 2 has been changed) \n  \nWith just weeks until mass deportations begin—including the likely rounding up of American citizens—the future is looking scary for immigrant workers and families. In our region of Ohio\, immigrants are an essential part of the fabric of the community and the economy. One organization\, HOLA—Hispanas Organizadas de Lake y Ashtabula (Hispanic Women’s League of Lake and Ashtabula Counties)—has been working for almost 30 years to support newly arrived immigrants and advocate for the rights of Latinos and immigrants. \nPlease join us on Thursday as Veronica Isabel Dahlberg\, Executive Director and President of HOLA\, speaks to us about her organization and how we can all support immigrants in our community. Read more about Veronica—who was recently induced into the Ohio Civil Rights Hall of Fame on HOLA’s website. \nIn addition to our speaker\, we’ll spend a few minutes outlining next steps for our club and committees.
